Fly Fishing Entertainment Hits Big Screens Across the Nation

Because the Trout Underground has always wanted to quote a press release from a major press release site, we bring you news of the Angling Exploration Group’s upcoming fly fishing film tour - a nationwide tour visiting over thirty cities:

The Angling Exploration Group, a media production company specializing in adventure fly fishing entertainment, recently announced an updated film and venue list for their upcoming film tour. The tour will visit over thirty cities nation-wide and kicks off January 12th, 2007 at the Patagonia World Headquarters in Ventura, California.

The Underground would love to post a list of all the film tour’s sites, but the Angling Exploration Group is too hip to post the schedule on their Web site in a cut-and-paste format - and I’m far too old to type all the stops and dates myself - so you’ll just have to visit their site if you want to see if the tour’s coming to a town near you.

Sure, the Underground is a grouchy old fart, but he’s actually pretty pumped to see some new, non-insipid fly fishing video hitting the screen.

This is a film to see, watch the trailer on their site as a good teaser. The TBD1 was amazing (Patagonia), I won’t be able to make the Bay Area showing but I have TBD2 on pre-order.

AEG’s films (and Mike Weir’s Fish Eye Videos) remind me of the old Greg Stump ski films that knocked Warren Miller’s ski movies on their arse in the late 80’s and early 90’s!

I’ll be first to say that Trout Bum Diaries One had some serious flaws, but it was about damned time that fly fishing got its popular equivalent to surfing’s Endless Summer.

Looking at their schedule, I’m disappointed that the guys at AEG aren’t willing to get to K’ville for a slaw dog or two.
