The Best of the Trout Underground in 2006: Slaw Dogs, Storms and Trout
By Tom Chandler on Dec 30, 2006 in Underground Entertainment
Nothing announces the arrival of New Years better than a slew of after-Christmas sale catalogs - or the inevitable “Best of…” posts by fly fishing bloggers desperate to milk every erg of readership out of the prior year’s labors.
This isn’t my Annual Underground “The Year in Whining” wrap-up post, but it is the place where I recap some of the year’s *best* posts (an admittedly subjective topic).
They’re in reverse chronological order (newest first), and if you don’t review them, you’ll miss:
- My epic series of “sick and hacking in Tennessee” posts
- The Slaw Dog post that started it all
- My picture-laden dispatches from Maine (including an epic - and wet - canoe ride)
- A truckload of other rants, raves and opinions.

Was 2006 The Year of the Slaw Dog? It was on the Underground.

I regret that I lack the ability to list the “Best Reader Comments” on the Underground. There have been some real doozies, and frankly, the give and take between the Underground’s fevered minds is what makes the gig worthwhile (well, that and the groupies).
Enjoy!
I’ve got some fishing on tap, and as always, you’ll here about it here first.
See you on the river, Tom Chandler.
