More Underground Essays at Northern California Fly Fishing site
By Tom Chandler on Dec 11, 2006 in Underground Entertainment, Writing
I wrote an essay about winter fishing for Ben Rualo’s Fly Fishing Norcal site. I don’t have as much time to write essays as I’d like, but Ben’s agreed to run one now and then just to keep me from completely giving up the ghost.
Here’s a short passage from the essay:
Winter fishing isn’t something you do on a whim. Fly fishers carry more gear than your average Navy Seal, and in winter we compound that by wearing enough clothing to make the Michelin Man look like an athlete. And there’s always the extra gear you should bring (and hope you don’t need), and the few items (like a thermos of hot tea) that makes it tolerable.
His site is an interesting mix of information and people, and it’s defnitely worth a visit.
