Research Suggests Trout Are Smarter Than Fly Fishers. Duh!

Via the “we never sleep” Moldy Chum blog comes this story about English researchers experimenting with trout behavior.
Research suggests trout are smarter than trout fishermen, who pretty much do the same thing over and over while our finned, Einstein-esque quarry evolves.
It’s not a pretty picture.
You see, fish have evolved, yet fly fishermen’s excuses really haven’t progressed much over the last few decades.
We’re still using lame excuses like barometric readings and micro-drag, while the trout have progressed to laughing at us and making farting noises with their fins whenever we wade by.
New excuses for not catching fish are desperately needed. Bravo researchers!
