Wednesday Morning State of the Underground: The Lure of Politics
By Tom Chandler on Nov 8, 2006 in Underground Entertainment, Writing

Mt. Shasta, CA — The Leader of the Underground didn’t run for office, and neither was he elected to any. Still, watch out for my 2008 Presidential bid.
The democratic tsunami will have passed, and I’ll be riding the crest of the Trout Writer wave. Naturally, I’ll be contacting all of you for bribes donations campaign support.
Anyway, you might have noticed fewer posts on the Underground as of late. Don’t take it personally (I’d tell you if I had a problem with you).
I’m writing. A lot.
I’m throwing together some fly fishing essays for another site (more news on that soon), and there are the rare paying jobs, all of which require thought, proposals, outlines and labor.
Plus there are my other blogs. I just featured Wally the Wonderdog on my Copywriter Underground marketing writer blog.
And I’m about to launch a new “Engagement Principles” blog dealing with (ta-da!) engagement marketing via two-way media channels.
If you’re not sure what engaging via a two-way media channel really means, well, you’re doing it right now - by reading my blog, and responding to my posts. I’m making blogs a part of my service offerings. Let you know how it goes.
As For the Fishing…
Look for a “State of the Upper Sacramento River” post soon. Right now, the days are ending very early, so if you can’t get on the water by mid-afternoon, you’re probably not getting on it at all.
In addition, the weatherman done us dirty; all the grey weather they promised hasn’t so much arrived en masse as it has sputtered across the sky, and right now it’s windy and crystal clear.
That doesn’t mean there isn’t any fishing - especially where the spent October Caddis lurk - but it gives you just one more reason to stay home and type instead of getting out and fishing.
See you on the river, Tom Chandler
