First we stumbled on the wholly overwhelming Fly Fishing in Yellowstone blog, the reports from which were so detailed and volumnious that there’s really no need to actually leave the house and go fishing.

Now there’s the Yellowstone, A Step Apart blog, which seems intent on giving us a tour of the park so detailed that I’ve abandoned plans to actually visit, reasoning it’s cheaper to stay home and just read about it.

Still, next year I’ve gotta make the trip, if only so I can taunt Ian Rutter the way he wanted to taunt me (but couldn’t due to the lack of an Internet connection) while he was there.

Apparantly the Fall rush has gone off in a big way for Ian and Charity, who have developed enough of a name for themselves that the calls are coming thick and fast, and calling them at the last minute is a surefire recipe for fishing with someone else.

Back at the Ranch

Meanwhile, back in the State of Jefferson, Dave Roberts is catching steelies on the Rogue, Chris Raine is teaching bamboids how to build cane rods, Jimmy Reams is catching trout on Hat Creek, and Mike Lucia apparently hammered them two nights ago, though details are sketchy.

A River of Words runs through it all, and all eventually merge into one – and apparently right my keyboard because that’s where I’ve been instead of out fishing.
