Recently, severla groups of mountain climbers on the Tibet side of Everest witnessed Chinese militia shooting and killing unarmed Tibetan refugees (the toll included a nun) at Nangpa La pass.
Now the Chinese are trying to silence the climbers who witnessed the event, and are even claiming that refugees “attacked” the soldiers (I guess snowballs are lethal weapons).
Sadly, this story has gotten almost zero play in the mainstream media, but some of the online media are picking it up, and despite the fact this isn’t a news/political blog, I wanted to do my part.
Information and links about the whole sordid event can be found at the GetOutdoors blog. I don’t expect this little blog post to have any effect, though it’s one more nail in the coffin of Chinese products. The more I hear about things like this, the less I’m interested in supporting that country.

don’t know how much impact your blog had, but I see on AOL News front page the video some Rumanian climbers had on one of the refugees getting shot by armed and uniformed presumably Chinese.
good luck

It’s been mainly outdoor blogs reporting this, but it’s starting to get some traction with mainstream media.
It all appears to be (sadly) true, and it’s just one more stick in Tibetan culture’s eye by the Chinese.
