It’s a rare day when the Underground stoops to actually delivering useful news. Today is one of those days.
We seek only to remind you of the Great Western Bamboo Rod Builders Gathering coming to Dunsmuir October 27-29. The program includes a Friday night presentation by Casting for Recovery and Craig Ballenger about the Golden Trout Recovery project.
Saturday will be largely consumed by geeky rod building seminars, including a casting demo by Guy Manning. On Sunday, everyone recovers from their hangover while building a one-day rod to be donated to Casting for Recovery.
Sure, it sounds like the bamboo rod builder’s equivalent of a Star Trek convention but without the Klingon costumes. I’ll be there for part of the time, so it couldn’t be all that bad, right?

TC we won’t have hang overs we are drinking Single Malt. Most builders are staying at Cave Springs and all Single Malts or Irish Whisky are welcome (and how ever brings it)
