Fly Fishing Overseas? Check With Your Pilot…

The spurious, boring safety announcements at the beginning of any plane flight make me roll my eyes, but after hearing what a pilot in Turkey said to a planeload of British tourists, I think I’ll stop mocking it:
“Do not fly with this plane, it is not safe.”
So, show of hands for everyone heading to Russia to fish? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Be that as it may, flying is the safest form of public transportation. You are much more likely (statistically speaking) to be injured or worse driving to the Upper Sac than be involved in a plane crash.
Yes I have flown to Russia twice in the last 14 months….
