Tuesday’s Entertainment - the Early Fall Edition…
By Tom Chandler on Aug 29, 2006 in Underground Entertainment
Wake up Undergrounders! It may be a sleepy Tuesday, but there’s no reason to sleepwalk your way through the day (after all, every day you’re alive is another day you might get to fish).
In my case, I’m still focused on getting everything done before my upcoming trip to Maine, which will likely provide several more scenes like the one below from last year’s trip…

From last year’s Maine trip. Pity me, Undergrounders…
The Entertainment
It’s a short list of Fall-related links today, opening with Fly Fishing the Yellowstone, who finally put into print what I’ve been feeling - that Fall isn’t official yet, but it’s clearly on the way.
He describes the changing of the Aspen leaves, but here in Mt. Shasta, temperatures at night are falling below the level where you want the windows open, some of the leaves are turning brown, and the green of spring and summer is giving way to brown.
Opax (our Finnish blogging friend) also cops to Fall in his blog entry, where he mentions the temporary closures Finland’s implemented to protect their spawning Brown trout.
The days here are still hot - and if under oath - I’d officially say we’re in the dog days. The signs of Fall I’m seeing are more a warning of what’s to come than a current reality. We’ve got time, but make a mental note to break out the October Caddis and BWO boxes.
Until then, see you on the remote Maine lake, Tom Chandler.
